Weekend with the children

June 17, 2017
Saturday

I spent a day with the children in Chosen Children Village, Silang Cavite.
I used to attend such programs back in college, nursing days. Where & when we fed and played with children (with different health conditions). It always feels great to help and make people happy, especially the young ones. Last summer, I decided to spend my birthday in one of the charities in Cavite or Las PiƱas City. However, I wasn't able to get the date I wanted and because of the other circumstances.

I felt bad not to pursue that plan, so I went there, together with 2 of my close friends. I saw how beautiful the place is and realized that there are STILL, REALLY, good people in the world. The staff are very friendly, they call each other MAMA and PAPA. It is a picture of a big happy family, maybe not by blood, but a family by heart. There are children with down syndrome who play with others, no discrimination. They always wear smiles in their faces. Everything is very light and bright. Those children may not have their biological parents but God gave them a bunch of people who's willing to love them as theirs.

I feel blessed because I've got the chance to meet them and realized how beautiful life is. It gave me positive vibes the way you would never understand. I just stared at them playing and eating, imagining... realizing... how lucky we are, living a normal life. Can you imagine how difficult it is for them? Having the genetic dso as well as not living with their own parents? It was heartbreaking. REALLY.

You'll get to understand everything when you see it with your eyes. I know they're happy. I can see it in their faces but I still pray that God would add more happiness to their lives. They deserve it or even more.

I would like to thank Him for giving me the opportunity to spend my post- birthday celebration in the Village next month. I am very excited to prepare all the stuff that I'll be needing. It was one of my wishes back then. I am so glad and proud that I am finally fulfilling it. Thank you for all the blessings. I can't wait to share it with them. šŸ’“

Everything went well and arrived at the Mactan International Airport at around 0840. We took the white cab (outside the airport) going to the North terminal. The driver gave us tickets for the insurance. Cool!   We paid 170 pesos for the trip. It takes less than an hour to get there.  From the North terminal, we took a van going to Hagnay...

Taytay falls, Majayjay Laguna

A weekend getaway in Laguna. February 20, 2016 We visited one of the famous falls in Laguna. The Taytay falls in Majayjay. We went on a weekend that's why it's a bit crowded. It was a little difficult to find a nice spot to go camping. Nevertheless, it was a good experience. People often call it the Majayjay Falls, maybe because it's in Majayjay Laguna but actually its name is Taytay Falls. Its former name was The Imelda falls, named after the First lady of our late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos, Mrs. Imelda Marcos. She has financed the promotion of tourism of the place, that's why. The Taytay Falls It was a 3-4 hours (+ traffic jams) drive from Las PiƱas City. We arrived at around 11AM, got our registration and paid 20 pesos for the entrance fee. It's better to bring your own tent, for you not to rent one. Since souvenir shops close at 5 in the afternoon, we bought some before going to the falls. You can also buy food and drinks near the entrance gate. Park...
