My Phuket List 2015

Hello.
I am Ana and honestly, I am not sure how to start this blog, this travel blog.
All I know is I want to write.
I want to share my PhuketList2015 (as I called it)
Trip to Phuket, Thailand

It was my first travel abroad with friends and it was unforgettable.
My 2 girl friends (High school close friends) and I decided to have a trip in November 2015.
We booked our flight in September and October of the same year. We waited for some promotions from Cebu Pacific Air.

FLIGHT RATE
Manila to Phuket = 2,770 pesos
Phuket to Manila = 3,282.47 pesos

That's reasonable, for me. All taxes included.
But since we're going to travel abroad, we needed to pay our travel tax which costs 1,620 pesos.
**All passengers travelling abroad have to pay. That's ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES. Yeah!

Note:
If you can find a flight cheaper than mine, the better. We just didn't have time to wait for the cheapest airline promo.

AIRPORT

We went to NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) Terminal 3 last November 6, 2015 for our evening flight ( at 7:20 pm ) from SM southmall. We rented a cab and paid 700 pesos because of traffic jam and (you know, all the hassle and stuff).
And YES. The flight was delayed. As usual.
We arrived at Phuket Airport at around 11:20pm (Phuket time)
**Phuket is an hour behind the Philippine time.**
From Phuket Airport, we paid 180 Thai Baht ( 235.8 pesos ) for the van going to our hotel.

Convert:
1 Philippine peso = 1.31 Thai Baht

HOTEL
Phunara Residences
We stayed in Phunara Residences in Patong, Phuket.
My friend made the reservation online in October 2015.
We paid 3,000 pesos for the hotel (That's from Nov. 6 to 9).
Yes, that's for 4 days. Isn't it affordable? :)
We paid extra 450 Thai Baht for extension. ( 589.50 pesos )
Since the room is for 2. We had to share with the expenses.
3,589.50 pesos / 2 = 1,794.75 pesos each (for the hotel)

THINGS THAT I BROUGHT
**I checked the weather in Phuket, Thailand before the flight. I think that's necessary for you to know what to bring.
It's 29 degrees Celsius. Day 1's weather was a bit wet. It was drizzling.

-I got 2 big bags + my baby sling bag.
I didn't bring much because I was planning to buy stuff or clothes there.
-top
-shorts
-leggings (I prefer them than demin cause they're lighter.) And it's necessary to wear pants or leggings when entering temples.
-malong (optional) Actually, you can wear shorts or skirts in the temple. However, malong would be useful to cover some skin, instead of borrowing some cloth near the entrance of the temple (Btw, that's for free). I recommend to bring your own. You can also use it in the beach. Why not? :)
-cosmetics (optional)
-hygiene kit
-rashguard (optional)
-sunglasses
-hat (optional)
-pullover, it's a bit cold in the Airport (not in NAIA)
-small sling bag (for your valuables when travelling) Instead of carrying a big shoulder bag.
-sunblock (Since it's warm and sunny.) I forgot to bring one so I bought a bottle in PhiPhi Island that costs 240 Thai Baht ( 314.4 pesos ). Then in the Family Mart, sunblock costs 188 Thai Baht ( 246.28 pesos ). GOOD JOB, Ana!. :(:
-small towel
-facial moisturizer
-cellphones and cameras with charger
-powerbank
-Traveler SIM (Which you can buy at the Airport or in any stores around Phuket)
It costs 400 Thai Baht at the Airport. ( 524 pesos )
And it costs 300 Thai Baht outside the airport ( 393 pesos )
7 days unlimited call and text + unli internet (Not bad. The connection was really fast. So, you can snap anytime.)
-a Phuket map and other brochures (Which you can get at the airport.)
-slippers / shoes
-monopod/ gopro (optional)
-swimwear if you're planning to go beachin'
-snorkeling equipment (optional) If you're planning to go snorkeling. Especially during the island tour. Instead of borrowing, I recommend to bring your own.
-waterproof sling bag (optional)

DAY 1
November 7, 2015

FOOD
We had our first breakfast at McDonalds. Yes, Mcdo! Haha Because most of the resto (near our place) were still closed at around 8am. No choice.
A meal which includes a sandwich/burger of your choice, hashbrown and drinks. It costs 145 Thai Baht ( 183.4 pesos )
We had our lunch at a small resto that offers Thai food, soup and drinks. It costs 90 Thai Baht ( 117.9 pesos). Which I didn't enjoy. I don't know why. pff

ACTIVITIES
CITY TOUR
Since it was our first time to rent a cab in Phuket, we didn't have any idea how much that is. We paid 1,400 Thai Baht ( 1,834 pesos ) YES. That's too much. We're so dumb to bite. Awts. (PLEASE scratch that. It was our biggest mistake.)
-City Tour.
-Went to different places.
-Temples
-Markets
-Shrines
-Resto

**Actually, we can go anywhere we like since we rented the cab for 6 hours.

The Big Buddha

In the evening, we had massages in Nara Spa, near our hotel. We had the authentic Thai massage we all wanted. It costs 250 Thai Baht ( 327.50 pesos ) + 50 for tip ( 65.5 pesos).
It was very relaxing. And they gave free drinks after. (Just water. Not bad. A for effort. lol)
We went to a Travel Agency near the hotel and made reservations for Island Tour the next day.
The schedule will be at 7 in the morning.

NIGHT 1
Tiger Bar
Bangla Road
Street food
We went to Bangla Road. The most famous road, I think, in Phuket. Where you can see lots of lady boys who are prettier and hotter than you. Prepare your insecurities. LOL
We had dinner and bottles of beer. Since, we cannot stay late because of our tour the next day. I just had 3 bottles. And that's enough for me.

DAY 2
NOVEMBER 8, 2015

ACTIVITIES
ISLAND TOUR (PHI PHI ISLAND)
Phi Phi Hotel
The Krabi Island
Koh Phi Phi Don
Phi Phi in Krabi Island is one of the most beautiful islands in Phuket.

From our hotel, we took the van for almost an hour. Then, we transferred to Asean Cruise. It took more than an hour to reach Phi Phi Islands.

NIGHT 2
Connect four
Fried ice cream
Hit the nail
Since we were in Thailand, we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. :D And then, we went to Bangla Road again. It was an epic night.
We played cool games and went to a club. Yes, a club with private dancers. A show that made me say "What the hell! Was that possible?" *shocked*
That private club offers unlimited drinks until you drop for 800 Thai Baht ( 1,048 pesos ). But since we're not planning to stay, we just bought some beer and paid 300 Baht ( 393 pesos ) for an hour. They agreed.
Going back to the hotel, we took the motorcycle (It's like habal-habal in the Philippines). We paid 100 Thai Baht  ( 131 pesos ) for 2 peeps. That's a lot cheaper than a cab.

DAY 3
NOVEMBER 9, 2015

By the beach, you can:

I think markets near the temples offer more affordable items.

Taytay falls, Majayjay Laguna

A weekend getaway in Laguna. February 20, 2016 We visited one of the famous falls in Laguna. The Taytay falls in Majayjay. We went on a weekend that's why it's a bit crowded. It was a little difficult to find a nice spot to go camping. Nevertheless, it was a good experience. People often call it the Majayjay Falls, maybe because it's in Majayjay Laguna but actually its name is Taytay Falls. Its former name was The Imelda falls, named after the First lady of our late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos, Mrs. Imelda Marcos. She has financed the promotion of tourism of the place, that's why. The Taytay Falls It was a 3-4 hours (+ traffic jams) drive from Las Piñas City. We arrived at around 11AM, got our registration and paid 20 pesos for the entrance fee. It's better to bring your own tent, for you not to rent one. Since souvenir shops close at 5 in the afternoon, we bought some before going to the falls. You can also buy food and drinks near the entrance gate. Park...
